Synalpheus minus (Say, 1818)
Material examined. None.
Distribution. Western Atlantic—Bermuda, North Carolina to Brazil (Ceará to São Paulo) (Christoffersen 1979, 1998; Bezerra & Coelho 2006).
Previous records from Abrolhos. South of Ilha Santa Bárbara, 5–8 m; R/V Calypso 84, between Ilha de Santa Bárbara and Siriba, 2–5 m; R/V Calypso, Sta. 85, 2– 5 m (Christoffersen 1979).
Remarks. The material of S. minus from Brazil (including Abrolhos) reported by Christoffersen (1979) may include at least two species, most likely S. minus (or S. m. bahiensis Coutière, 1909) and S. antillensis; the status of S. m. bahiensis remains unsettled (Anker et al. 2012).
