Biscirus kobachidzei Gomelauri 1963, comb. nov.

Description

Biscirus kobachidzei (Gomelauri, 1963) comb. nov.

Neobiscirus kobachidzei Gomelauri, 1963: 167.

Distribution. Georgia S.S.R.

Remarks. The monospecific Neobiscirus Gomelauri, 1963 differs from Biscirus by the presence of a median eye and two denticles on the movable digit. These characters are continuous with multiple genera in most subfamilies (Hernandes 2013), including Biscirus, which is often overlooked as possessing a median eye (Alberti 1975). Therefore, we do not consider Neobiscirus a distinct genus, and instead suggest the new combination Biscirus kobachidzei (Gomelauri, 1963).
