Eucyane variabilis roseofasciata Zerny, 1928: 3. Lectotype hereby designated, male: COLOMBIA, Bella Vista, August 1927; with three labels: “ Type ”, a printed label “W. Columbien, Bella Vista, August 1927 ”, and a handwritten label “Eucyane variabilis roseofasciata Zerny ♂ Zerny type ” (ZMHB) [examined]. New synonym of Hypocrita variabilis variabilis.

Current combination. Junior subjective synonym of Hypocrita variabilis variabilis (Zerny, 1928).

Condition of the type. Left antenna missing. Wings worn and slightly damaged. Left midleg missing.

Remarks. For information about this subspecies and why it was synonymized under H. variabilis variabilis, see under Eucyane variabilis flavofasciata above.
