Arpactophilus propodealis Bohart, 1999: 108 [♀: holotype BPBM].

Diagnosis. Arpactophilus propodealis is the only New Caledonian species in the genus with the combination of a forewing with one submarginal cell, a dorsally-interrupted occipital carina (Fig. 6), a long finely reticulate (almost punctured) dorsal surface of the propodeum (Fig. 22) and a lateral surface of the propodeum with fine carinulae and reticulae.

Remarks. This species appears to be more variable than originally described. There is a group of specimens that vary in body size and color (from light brown to black) and intensity of yellow markings on clypeus and lower frons. Since these variations are gradual and no distinct groups can be formed we identify them as A. propodealis instead of describing new species. This species needs to be revised once more material is present.
