Material examined. Manca (MGAB CUM 1742), Tourmaline reef, Puerto Rico, Caribbean Sea, 18°10'31.0800"N, 67°19'38.2800"W, 54 m, April 29, 2012; 1 manca (MGAB CUM 1743), North of Buoy 4, western Puerto Rico, Caribbean Sea, 18°02'21.8040"N, 67°24'16.0200"W, April 30, 2012, 27 m, collected by Nikolaos V. Schizas during the 2012 UPRM-DMS Mesophotic Cruise; 1 manca (MGAB CUM 1791), San Cristobal reef, La Parguera, Puerto Rico, Caribbean Sea, 17°56'28.68"N, 67°04'34.75"W, September 6, 2012, 3 m, collected by Nikolaos V. Schizas.

Description. Manca (MGAB CUM 1742).

Body size: 1.2 mm (Fig. 29 A).

Carapace (Fig. 29 A), 0.31 times total body length, 1.53 times longer than high, one dorsal spine on frontal lobe, pseudorostrum 0.14 times carapace length, long siphon, ocular lobe with five lenses, 0.55 times carapace length, large antennal notch, prominent anterio-ventral corner.

Antenna 1 (Fig. 29 B). Basal article 0.8 times as long as rest of articles together, one simple seta on medial margin, middle one with two setae on outer margin, one on apical article, terminal aesthetascs 2 times as long as main flagellum, minute accessory flagellum.

Maxilliped 3 (Fig. 29 C). Basis 0.41 times as long as rest of articles together, two plumose setae on outer process; merus 3 times as long as ischium, one tooth and one plumose seta on outer margin; carpus 0.83 times as long as merus, one plumose seta on outer margin; propodus two times carpus length, two pappose setae on medial margin, dactylus half of propodus length, terminal robust seta as long as dactylus length, small; minute exopod.

Pereopod 1 (Fig. 29 D). Basis 0.4 times as long as rest of articles together, one plumose seta on medial margin; merus 2.2 times as long as ischium, carpus 1.75 times as long as merus length; propodus 1.19 times as long as carpus, two short simple setae on medial margin; dactylus 0.57 times as long as propodus, four subterminal setae, terminal robust seta 1.33 times dactylus length; minute exopod.

Pereopod 2 (Fig. 29 E). Basis 0.45 times as long as rest of articles together; merus 3.33 times as long as ischium length, carpus 1.4 times as long as merus, one simple seta on outer margin, two setae on medial margin; dactylus 1.66 times as long as propodus, one minute seta on outer margin, two subterminal setae and one terminal, 1.55 times dactylus length; minute exopod.

Pereopod 3 (Fig. 29 F). Basis 0.6 times as long as rest of article together; merus 1.6 times as long as ischium, carpus 1.5 times as long as merus; propodus 1.15 times as long as carpus; dactylus 0.53 times propodus length.

Pereopod 4 (Fig. 29 G). Basis 0.46 times as long as rest of articles together; merus 2.4 times as long as ischium, one simple seta on medial margin; carpus 1.5 times as long as merus; propodus 0.94 times as long as carpus, one simple short seta on distal outer corner; dactylus 0.29 times propodus length, terminal seta two times dactylus length.

Uropod (Fig. 29 H). Peduncle 0.79 times last pleonite length, 0.88 times endopod length; exopod 0.7 times endopod length, one short seta on outer margin, one subterminal seta on medial margin, terminal robust seta 1.17 times exopod length; endopod with four setae on medial margin, one subterminal and terminal robust seta 0.79 times endopod length.

Remarks. Cumella sp. 1 resembles C. longiseta, C. portoricensis, C. croixensis, and C. maxipropa. Since Cumella sp. 1 is known only from a manca, comparisons against the rest of the described adult or subadult specimens are not appropriate.
