Russelliana

Description

Russelliana sp. 1

Material examined. Argentina: 1 ♀, Province Río Negro, El Bolsón, 680 m, 1.iv.1961 (G. Topál) (MHNG, on slide).

Comments. The specimen resembles R. fabianae and viscosae in a short antenna, a yellow forewing membrane, a female proctiger with a convex, strongly indented dorsal margin subapically, and a subglobular subgenital plate. It differs from R. fabianae in shorter genal processes, and from R. viscosae in the presence of very dense surface spinules in all cells of the forewing membrane, leaving no spinule-free stripes along the veins.
