Description

Liparthrum bartschti Mühl, 1891

Material examined. Mazandaran Province, Nowshahr-Ecology Garden N 36º 38' 51", E 51º 30' 64", 30 m a.s.l., breeding in twigs of Populus sp. (Salicaceae) Sudabe Amini leg., 4 specimens, September 2014.

This species was previously known only from Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Turkey (Knížek 2011) and Daghestan (Russia) (Petrov, 2005), collected only from mistletoe (Viscum album) growing on Populus, but not directly from Populus itself. Our record is the first finding of this genus in Iran.
