Description
Anthelephila fossicollis species-group
Diagnosis. Body reddish to dark brown, elytra mostly distinctly darker, brownish-black, and with slight bluish or greenish reflection, lacking dense setose bands or paler spots; head nearly smoothly merging with shorter neck (not quite); pronotal disc convex; mesosternum with slight indication of median longutidinal bulge (more distinct only in A. fallax sp. nov.), metasternum simple; male profemoral process uniformly tooth-like, with short fringe of minute, stiff setae subapically; male abdominal sternum III usually with paired submedian carinae or longitudinal protrusions; aedeagus trilobed apically.
Species included. Anthelephila fossicollis Kejval, 2002, A. alamea sp. nov., A. arcana sp. nov., A. banhuaipo sp. nov., A. bannape sp. nov., A. bolavensis sp. nov., A. davita sp. nov., A. fallax sp. nov., A. falcata sp. nov., A. insolita sp. nov., A. keilana sp. nov., and A. paucula sp. nov.
Distribution. Burma, China (Sichuan, Tibet, Yunnan), Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Remarks. Range of the group seems to be limited to mainland Asia, as I have seen no specimens from Malaysia (including its peninsular part) and Indonesia. Most species records originate from the mountainous provinces of Thailand and Laos, which may be due to the higher level of exploration for these regions.
