Smittia nudipennis

Description

Smittia nudipennis (Goetghebuer, 1913)

(Fig. 6)

Smittia nudipennis (Goetghebuer, 1913: 166) (Camptocladius).

Bryophaenocladius togatenuis Sasa et Okazawa, 1992: 136. syn. n.

Specimen examined: Japan: Toyama Pref., Toga Village, holotype ♂ of Bryophaenocladius togatenuis, 31. v. 1990, T. Okazawa & M. Sasa [specimen No. 180:61 (NSMT-I-Dip 4702)].

Pubescent eyes, a terminal seta on last antennal flagellomere, no acrostichal setae, a moderately extended costa and a strongly sinuous Cu 2 are observed in the holotype of Bryophaenocladius togatenuis. These features indicate that the species belongs to the genus Smittia Holmgren. Furthermore, the hypopygial features are quite consistent with those of Smittia nudipennis.
