Description
Plectranthias maculicauda (Regan, 1914)
Serranops maculicauda Regan, 1914
Lectotype: BMNH 1913.12.4.12– 19, 83 mm SL (selected by Randall, 1980:152).
Type locality: off North Cape, Aupori Peninsula, North Island, New Zealand, depth 128 meters. Illustrations: Kuiter, 2004:113, figs. A & B; Randall, 1980:151, fig. 17.
D: X, 15. A: III, 7. P: 14 to 16. C: 17 (9 + 8). V: 26 (10 + 16). S: 3. GR: 6 to 8 + 15 to 17. LL: 32 to 34.
Distribution: western South Pacific.
