Studies on Arylacetamides. Part-II. Preparation and Antimicrobial Activity of p,p′-Bis(∞-carbarn oylarylm ethyl- hydrazinocarbonylmethoxy)diphenyl Sulphones

Some new arylacetamide derivatives have been prepared bearing p,p'-dihydroxy­diphenyl suiphone moiety. p,p′`-Bis(hydrazinocarbonylmethoxy)dipheny1 suiphone was condensed with different aldehydecyanohydrin to get the respective nitrites. The nitriles were then treated with concentrated sulphuric acid to get acetamide derivatives. The compounds were characterised by ir and pmr spectral data. The products were also screened for antimicrobial activity.
