Description

Laetulonthus Moore & Legner 1973

Laetulonthus Moore & Legner 1973: 213, ex Philonthus. Type species: Staphylinus laetulus Say, 1830, by original designation. Note: Smetana (1995) and Herman (2001d) give 1834 as publication date for S. laetulus, but its original description was actually first published in 1830.

Note: Laetulonthus, so far as currently known, is an endemic North American genus (southernmost record is Jalisco) with two species at present (Smetana 1995: 505–513).

Leptopeltoides Chani-Posse & Asenjo 2013: 450. Type species: Leptopeltoides ecuatoriensis Chani-Posse & Asenjo, 2013, by original designation.

Note: Leptopeltoides is a Neotropical genus with four species currently known from the Andes of Colombia and Ecuador (Chani-Posse & Asenjo 2013).

Leptopeltoides ecuatoriensis Chani-Posse & Asenjo 2013: 452. Type locality: Ecuador: Pichincha, Quito, 27 km WNW, Campamiento Pichán (above Nono), 3350 m, 0°7'31"N, 78°33'56"W. Type depository: SEMC HT ♂, 1 PT ♀. Distribution: Ecuador.
