Thiallela Walker, 1863: 120. Type species: Thiallela signifera Walker (synonym of T. ligeralis Walker), by monotypy. Luconia Ragonot, 1888: 7. Type species: Luconia pallidobasella Ragonot, by monotypy. Synonymized by Ragonot & Hampson 1901: 511.

Phalobathra Meyrick, 1932: 234. Type species: Phalobathra escigera Meyrick, by monotypy. Synonymized by Roesler & Küppers 1981: 69.

Diagnosis. Thiallela IS DIAGNOSeD bY THe MALe AND FeMALe GeNITAL STRUCTUReS: IN THe MALe THe WeLL-DeVeLOPeD TRANSTILLA HAS A PAIR OF POSTeROLATeRAL PROCeSSeS, THe bROAD VALVA HAS AN ARCHeD, ARM-LIKe CLASPeR AND AN APICALLY DISSOCIATeD SACCULUS, AND THe TRIANGULAR TO bOWL-SHAPeD eIGHTH AbDOMINAL STeRNITe ASSOCIATeD WITH A PAIR OF CULCITA; IN THe FeMALe ANTRUM IS bROAD, THe DUCTUS bURSAe IS SHORT AND bROAD, AND THe WeLL-DeVeLOPeD SIGNUM IS A STRONGLY beNDING HORN WITH A bROAD bASe.

Biology. ONe SPeCIeS OF THIS GeNUS WAS RePORTeD AS A NATURAL eNeMY OF THe PeSTS ON SUGARCANe, AND ITS LARVAe FeeD ON Ceratovacuna lanigera (ZeHNTNeR) (HUANG & LI, 2006).
