Description

Ferorhinella brevis (Walker, 1851)

Sphenorhina brevis Walker, 1851: 692.

Tomaspis brevis (Walker, 1851). Lallemand (1912); Metcalf (1961).

Tropidorhinella brevis (Walker, 1851). Fennah (1968).

Ferorhinella brevis (Walker, 1851). Carvalho (2004).

Diagnosis. Tegmen black with extensive elongated orangish-red markings. Subgenital plate with dorsal margin with rounded elevation, covered with small tooth-like spines. Paramere robust with spine-like dorsal subapical anteroventrally directed process, and more basal ventral posteriorly directed, straight, spine-like process.

Examined material. 6♂♂ and 1 specimen without pygofer, Brasil, São Paulo, Salesópolis, Estação Biológica da Boracéia, 885m, 23.6543°S 45.8896°W, 23–29.XI.2008, A. Paladini; D.R. Parizotto; P.C. Grossi leg. (UFSM).
