Group minutipes
Diagnosis. Both sexes. Hysteronotal setae d2, e2 absent. Setae c2 short lanceolate. Setae sR of trochanters III filiform. DHA present. Male. Opisthosoma strongly attenuate posteriorly, opisthosomal lobes fused along midline forming heavily sclerotized median septa, only distal ends of lobes separated by narrow terminal cleft not extending beyond level of setae h2. Epimerites IVa free, long, with anterior ends connected to or touching posterior angles of genital apparatus. Paragenital apodemes absent. Translobar apodemes absent. Terminal lamellae semiovate. Female. Setae f2 absent or represented by barely distinct alveoli.
Remarks. The group currently incorporates 10 species, including one described herein; 3 species are presently known from North America (Santana 1976; Gaud & Atyeo 1987). Included species: Trouessartia amplivasa Gaud and Atyeo, 1987, T. botulifera Gaud and Atyeo, 1987, T. juliettae Gaud and Atyeo, 1987, T. gabonica Gaud and Atyeo, 1987, T. microcaudata Mironov, 1983, T. minutipes (Berlese, 1886), T. paludicolae Gaud and Atyeo, 1987, T. quarta Gaud and Atyeo, 1987, T. petrochelidon sp. n., and T. ripariae Mironov, 1983.
