Description

Twenty four hours continuous temperature recordings were done from a tympanic site using tympanic temperature probes..Subjects’ temperature was recorded at an interval of 1 minute for 24 hours.

Temperature recordings were done from patients presenting with undifferentiated fever. Total of 103 subjects with undifferentiated fevers were included. Twenty-four-hour continuous tympanic temperature recordings were grouped into four categories of diseases (tuberculosis (n=28), non-tuberculous bacterial infections (n=31), dengue fever (n=16) and non-infectious diseases (n=28)) based on clinical and laboratory investigations.
