6.3 cm (2.5 in) SL (Shinohara et al. 1996).Western Pacific Ocean north to Japan (Nakabo in Nakabo 2002); southern California (32°N, 119°16’W) (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California). Depth: 100–1,537 m (328–5,041 ft) (Shinohara et al. 1996).
