Xenophallus umbratilis (Meek, 1912).
Umbrela Livebearer; Olomina, Alumina, Pepesca, Olomina Sombrilla.
Distribution: Global: Middle America; from southern Nicaragua to northern Costa Rica, Atlantic drainages; Costa Rica: LN, RF, SJ, SC, Sa,To, Pa (Atlantic) and Be (Pacific), 35– 590 m.a.s.l., Sec, Pot.
Occurrence and conservation status: Nat, VU.
References: Bussing (1966: 237, as Neoheterandria umbratilis – synonym; listed, information on distribution), Bussing (1987: 19, as N. umbratilis – synonym; 1998: 210, as N. umbratilis – synonym; brief description, including illustrations and an identification key, information on distribution, with a map, and ecology) and Angulo et al. (2013: 997; listed, including taxonomic information and distributional data). Remarks: This Atlantic species has been translocated to the Pacific (from the San Carlos River basin to the Bebedero River basin) as result of the transport of water for irrigation and aquaculture purposes carried out by private and governmental entities.
