An effcient synthesis of polyhydroquinolines is achieved via a four-component reaction of aldehydes, dimedone, ethyl acetoacetate, and ammonium acetate in one-pot in the presence of LiC1O4 in polyethylene glycol (PEG). This procedure tolerates most of substrates and has the advantages of short routine, high yields, and low environmental impact.
