≡ Uladendron Marcano-Berti, Pittieria 3: 9. 1971 (Malvaceae), nom. illeg. non Ulodendron Lindley et Hutton, Foss. Fl. Gr. Brit. 1(4): l. 1832 (Fossil Ulodendraceae-Lepidodendropsida).
Type— Marcanodendron codesuri (Marcano-Berti) Doweld, comb. nov.
≡ Uladendron codesuri Marcano-Berti, Pittieria 3: 9. 1971.
Holotype — VENEZUELA. Bolívar. L. Marcano-Berti 2565 (MER).
Eponymy: In honour of Luis Marcano-Berti, famous Venezuelan botanist and discoverer of the taxon.
