Description

This presentation on Open Science is part of the research secondment of Benjamin Stewart during his exchange to Instituto Mora in Mexico City.  The workshop explored Open Science and the promises and challenges for science and society.  After briefly covering the definition, history and application of Open Science policies, Stewart illustrated why they are relevant and what barriers and concerns there are for implementation.  The workshop engaged with the challenges of universalising access to knowledge in a world with a plurality of epistemic communities and developmental agendas.  The workshop highlighted the role that digitalisation plays in implementing Open Science policies and what that means for sustainable development.
