Description
The University of Extremadura hosted the 1st International Conference in Musical Tourism and Festivals 17-18 December 2015. This conference was a space for exchange between stakeholders and academics the musical tourism and festivals fields to learn from other areas and sectors; it will include keynotes, stakeholder-led discussion groups and parallel papers & posters considering and showcasing the delivery and assessment of engaged and impactful research.
Spain and Portugal hold great potential for music tourism and to take advantage of their musical and cultural heritage through festivals and other innovative practices. Extremadura and the city of Cáceres is a good example of how world music festivals as WOMAD impact place and people.
Selected papers will be double blinded peer review and edited and published on line in the proceedings of the conference with ISBN. We will assure an accurate dissemination and scientific reviewing of the conference proceedings.
