Description
Pityogenes irkutensis Eggers, 1910
Distribution in Iran. Guilan (Samin et al. 2011).
General distribution. Central and northern Europe, Ukraine, through Russia to Mongolia and northern China. Biology. The species normally breeds in species of Pinus, but occasionally attacks Larix and Picea (Pinaceae) (Yanovskij 1999). Recorded in Iran from Pinus sylvestris (Pinaceae) (Samin et al. 2011). Schedl (1962) briefly describes the gallery system.
