Euonthophagus yemenicus

Description

Euonthophagus yemenicus (Balthasar, 1946)

Literature quotes. YEMEN: Sana’a Governorate, San’a (Balthasar 1946).

Material examined. None.

Distribution. Arabian Peninsula: Yemen (Balthasar 1946).

Remarks. Known only from the male holotype, that we were not able to examine other than in photo. Scott in Paulian (1948) reported a remark, probably to be ascribed to Gilbert John Arrow, where it is affirmed that O. yemenicus may be identical with an old species of d’Orbigny. The identity of the d’Orbigny’s species is nevertheless not specified.
