(Figures 7 A–E)

Lumbrineris pterignatha Gallardo, 1968: 86 –87, Pl. 35, figs. 5–8.

Material examined. Type material: Holotype of Lumbrineris pterignatha (LACM-AHF POLY 0314), South Viet Nam, Nha Trang, Station 272/p’. Non-type material: Nha Trang, Station 0 31, 1 specimen (LACM-AHF POLYn11959); Nha Trang, Station 0 75. 1 specimen (LACM-AHF POLYn11960); Nha Trang, Station 1001, 1 specimen (LACM-AHF POLYn11961); Nha Trang, Station 162, 1 specimen (LACM-AHF POLYn11962); Nha Trang, Station 275, 1 specimen (LACM-AHF POLYn11963).

Peristomium shorter than prostomium, first ring slightly longer than second. All parapodia well developed; in parapodia 1 to15 prechaetal lobe inconspicuous, rounded and postchaetal lobe digitiform, longer than prechaetal (Figure 7 A); from parapodia 16, prechaetal lobe tapering, increasing gradually in length but smaller than postchaetal lobe until parapodium 33 where both lobes are of similar length (Figure 7 B). All parapodia with small notopodia, with notoaciculae. Composite multidentate hooded hooks in chaetigers 1–18, with long blade, with up to 5 teeth, proximal tooth largest (Figure 7 C); simple multidentate hooded hooks from chaetiger 19, with up to 5 teeth, proximal tooth largest, with short hood (Figure 7 D); dorsal limbate chaetae in chaetigers 1–39, ventral limbate chaetae in chaetigers 1–19. Aciculae yellow, aristate, up to two in anterior parapodia, one in posterior. Mandible fused for about 3/4 its length. Maxillary apparatus with four pairs of maxillae (Figure 7 E); maxillary carriers longer than MI, wide anteriorly and slender in middle and posterior end; joined to half of base of MI. MI forceps-like with wide base, without attachment lamella. MII as long as MI, with seven teeth, with ligament, without attachment lamella. MIII tridentate, with wide attachment lamella along entire lateral edge. MIV wing-shaped long plate, unidentate, with colourless central area.
