FILE DESCRIPTION:
Archived data for the manuscript “Resolving Magnetopause Shadowing Using Multi-Mission Measurements of Phase Space Density”  Staples et al., submitted to the Journal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics (manuscript archived via Earth and Space Science Open Archive ESSOAr; Washington, Mar 11, 2021. DOI:10.1002/essoar.10506455.1).


These files contain multi-mission phase space density measurements including, Van Allen Probes, GOES 13, 14, 15, GPS, MMS, and THEMIS, computed in adiabatic coordinates. All data is between 6 - 10 September 2017. For detailed description of the method used in the computation of this data, see section 2.1 of the submitted manuscript.

The THEMIS, Van Allen Probe, MMS, and GOES data used in computations is publicly available via http://cdaweb.gsfc.nasa.gov 
The GPS data is available via https://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/stp/space-weather/satellite-data/satellite-systems/gps/

FILES:

'allsc_psd_mu400.txt' - electron PSD from all spacecraft listed above, where µ = 390 to 410 MeV/G and K = 0.075 to 0.125 G0.5RE

'allsc_psd_mu900.txt' - electron PSD from all spacecraft listed above, where µ = 877.5 to 922.5 MeV/G and K = 0.075 to 0.125 G0.5RE

'rbsp_psd_mu400.txt' - electron PSD from the Van Allen probes, where µ = 350 to 450 MeV/G and K = 0.075 to 0.125 G0.5RE

'rbsp_psd_mu400.txt' - electron PSD from the Van Allen probes, where µ = 850 to 950 MeV/G and K = 0.075 to 0.125 G0.5RE
