Description

Centrophorus granulosus (Bloch & Schneider, 1801)

Squalus granulosus Bloch & Schneider, 1801: 135,136. Type locality: unknown (White et al., 2013). Centrophorus granulosus Gilat & Gelman, 1984: 257 –271; Golani, 1987: 25, fig. 2A,B; Pisanty & Golani, 1995: 389; Goren & Galil, 1997: 201; 2002: 151; Golani & Pisanty, 2000: 72 –73.

Material examined. 1 spec, TAU P- 13063, Israel, off Haifa Bay, 1500 m, coll. Galil, 1 December, 1991. This is a depth record for this species.

Distribution. Atlantic, Mediterranean, Indian Ocean and western Pacific; depth range 50–1440 m.
