Description
Munida evermanni Benedict, 1901
Munida evermanni has also been reported as Munida stimpsoni (Baba et al. 2008). Its range is from the Caribbean to the northern coast of the Gulf of Mexico in depths of 232 to 471 m (Milne-Edwards 1880; Benedict 1901; Chace 1942; Lemaitre 1984; Baba et al. 2008). Five males (CW from 12.0 to 13.8 mm), four females (CW from 11.4 to 13.3 mm), and one ovigerous female (13.7 mm) were available; males and females did not vary significantly in size (t-test, df = 7, t = 0.593, p = 0.572). All specimens were collected in the Gulf of Mexico in July in depths of 439 to 549 m (Fig. 8 E).
