Description

Diphascon (Diphascon) nodulosum Ramazzotti 1957

Dorsal cuticle sculptured with irregular polygons, denser in the middle and posterior areas of the body. Drop present between the buccal and pharyngeal tubes. Two macroplacoids and septulum within the pharyngeal bulb. Two specimens were collected with body sizes of 451 and 550 μm, mean 501 μm (SD 70). The species has been cited for America, Europe and Oceania. In the Iberian Peninsula, it has been formerly recorded for Spain (Guil 2002). Diphascon (Diphascon) nodulosum was collected only from one LF sample (Table 3).
