Type locality. Germany, Regensburg (fide Tipton, 1960).

Type host. Lemmus arvalis = Microtus arvalis.

Principal hosts. Voles of the genus Microtus (according to Bregetova, 1956; Zemskaya, 1973).

Distribution. Europe, Northern and Central Asia. According to references compiled by Nikulina (2004), L. hilaris is broadly distributed in Siberia and the Russian Far East (except its northern part). There are samples of this
