Description
Apodichthys flavidus Girard, 1854.
Penpoint Gunnel. To 46 cm (18 in) TL (Miller and Lea 1972). Kodiak Island, Gulf of Alaska to Santa Barbara Island (Eschmeyer and Herald 1983), and on mainland to Point Loma, southern California (Personal communication: Santa Barbara Natural History Museum Fish Collection, Santa Barbara, California). Benthic; depth: intertidal to 11 m (36 ft) (min.: Miller and Lea 1972; max.: Personal communication: Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History Fish Collection, Los Angeles, California). An “ Apodichthys flavidus ” from Adak Island, Aleutian Islands (Personal communication: University of Washington, Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture Fish Collection, Seattle, Washington, UW 027056), is not this species (Katherine Maslenikov).
