Polylepion cruentum Gomon, 1977.
Bleeding Wrasse. To 27.3 cm (10.7 in) TL (John Snow, pers. comm. to M.L.). Todos Santo (23°24.6’N, 110°13.8’W), southern Baja California (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California), Gulf of California as far north as at least Loreto (John Snow, pers. comm. to M.L.) to Costa Rica (Parenti and Randall 2000). Depth: 80–305 m (262–1,000 ft) (Sánchez-Jiménez et al. 2018).
