Description
Amphistichus argenteus Agassiz, 1854.
Barred Surfperch. To 43.2 cm (17 in) TL (Miller and Lea 1972). Bodega Bay, northern California (Miller and Lea 1972) to Bahía Santa Rosalia (28°25’N, 114°15’W), north-central Baja California (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California). Depth: intertidal to 80 m (262 ft) (min.: Miller and Lea 1972; max.: Bradburn et al. 2011); occasionally found in relatively low salinity (to 24.6 ppt) in estuaries (Ruiz-Campos et al. 2000).
