Hemanthias peruanus
Description
Hemanthias peruanus (Steindachner, 1875).
Rose Threadfin Bass or Splittail Bass. To 45 cm (17.7 in) TL (Heemstra in Fischer et al. 1995). Hippolito Bank (27°N), southern Baja California (Watson in Moser 1996) to Chile (Pequeño 1989), including Gulf of California (Heemstra in Fischer et al. 1995) and probably Islas Galápagos (Grove and Lavenberg 1997). Depth: 10–251 m (28–823 ft) (min.: Fitch 1982; max.: Personal communication: Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History Fish Collection, Los Angeles, California).
