Description

Icelinus cavifrons Gilbert, 1890.

Pit-head Sculpin. To 8.9 cm (3.5 in) TL (Miller and Lea 1972). Monterey Bay, central California (Miller and Lea 1972) almost to southern tip of Baja California (22°54’N) (Castro-Aguirre et al. 1993). Benthic; depth: 11–110 m (36–361 ft) (min.: Miller and Lea 1972; max.: Personal communication: Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History Fish Collection, Los Angeles, California).
