Scorpaena sonorae Jenkins & Evermann, 1889.
Sonora Scorpionfish. To 18 cm (7.1 in) TL (Allen and Robertson 1994). Southern Baja California (26°07.7’N, 113°04.2’W) (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California), to Gulf of California (Poss in Fischer et al. 1995), to Guerrero State, Mexico (Amezcua Linares 1996). Benthic; depth: surface (nightlight; Personal Communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California), 1–91 m (4–300 ft) (min.: Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California; max.: Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California).
