In Indian freedom history would be incomplete without women contribution. There are some important women national freedom fighter, like- Sarojini Naidu, Rani Lakshmi Bai, Annie Besant, Madam Bhikaji Cama, Usha Mehta, Kamala Nehru, Dr. S. Muthulakshmi Reddy, Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay, Mridula Sarabhi, Durgabai Deshmukh, Margaret Cousins etc. A large number of women went to join during Quit India Movement and the Previous Civil Disobedience Movement. The Indian freedom movement divided into two phases, i> Pre-Gandhian Period from 1885 to 1919 and ii> Post-Gandhian Period from 1919 to 1947. There are some women’s organization in India, like Bharat Stree Mahanandala, Madras Women’s Association, National Council of Women in India, All India Women Conference, Bangiya Nari Samaj etc.
