Synchiropus splendidus
Description
Synchiropus splendidus (Herre 1927) —Mandarinfish
Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimen photographed at Lissenung Island by Dietmar Amon on 3 May 2009.
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Central Indonesia east to Palau, Micronesia and Solomon Islands, north to Rykyu Islands, south to northern Australia and New Caledonia. Found in sheltered coral reef habitats, 0–18 m depth. Marine.
