Description
Pholidichthys leucotaenia Bleeker 1856 —Convict blenny
Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a video of a specimen taken near Nusa Island, Kavieng District at 5–23 m depth, St. KR 8, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell); another taken at Nubilus Island, off eastern New Hanover, 3–25 m depth, St. KR 90, in 2014.
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Indonesia east to Philippines and Solomon Islands, south to Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and New Caledonia. Found in coastal reefs and on seaward coral reef slopes, 3–30 m depth. Marine.
