Description
Pteragogus enneacanthus (Bleeker 1853) —Cockerel wrasse
Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a specimen observed at Nausen Island, Kavieng District, 3–18 m depth, St. T 9, on 1 Nov. 2006, by Gerald R. Allen.
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Indonesia east to Philippines and Solomon Islands, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia. Found among corals and seagrass, 3–25 m depth. Marine.
