Metrics for Understanding Episodic Salinization in Freshwater Systems Code and R Functions

The uploaded file contains code developed for computing metrics of saltwater intrusion events. The code is flexible and user friendly such that it can be applied across a vast spectrum of ecosystems. Supplied code takes a time series of conductivity or salinity data and computes duration, frequency, and magnitude of saltwater intrusion events based on user supplied salinity and temporal thresholds. Our code is heavily commented to improve accessibility and use of our metrics even by those who are novice R users.
