Oisedicus maginus sp. n.

Diagnosis. As for genus.
Description. Measurements are given in Table 1. Antennae 8-segmented. Antennal segment III twice as long as segment II; IV and V subequal in length. Compound eye distinctly divided; ommatidia in upper portion larger than those in lower portion. Fore wing widened in apical half. Hind wing widened in apical half. Paronychium lingulate; setae of hind tibia evenly dispersed. Claspers tapered in apical half, shifted dorsad, slightly crossed. Aedeagus with small, hook-like apex.
Etymology. Specific epithet from the Proto-Celtic ‘magino’ meaning big, refers to its huge size in comparison with the others.

Age and occurrence. Lowermost Eocene, c. 55−53 Ma, Ypresian (Sparnacian), level MP7 of the mammal fauna of Dormaal (Feugueur 1963; De Ploëg et al. 1998; Nel et al. 1999, Cavagnetto 2000, De Franceschi & De Ploëg 2003, Nel et al. 2004, Nel & Brasero 2010). Department Oise, France, 43°N, 2.7°E; palaeocoordinates 44.8°N, 0.1°E; palaeocoordinates based on nearby landmark (Paleobiology Database 2013).
Material. Holotype, male. Specimen No. MNHN PA 2493, mounted on slide, preserved in Canada balsam. Mesothorax and metathorax covered with gas bubble, apical portion of abdomen and apical portion of hind wing covered with gas bubbles.
