Description

This module is a part of the introductory online course “Bringing synergy to better data management and research in Europe”. The course helps learners get up to speed with innovative services and research data management approaches and do better research.

Making research services and resources available and widely usable across Europe is one of the main goals of realising EOSC. This module will explain why a federated structure, such as EOSC matters and how it works.

By the end of this module, learners will be able to:

  • Understand what a federated structure, such as the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) is, why it matters, and how it works.
  • Identify the key aspects of IT service (resource) management in relation to the EOSC portal.
  • Understand the concept of resource integration into EOSC.
  • Distinguish between different steps of EOSC integration.

This module is suitable for researchers, students, trainers and data professionals seeking introductory learning material. It will take on average 30 minutes to complete the module.

In addition to the full text of the module, the materials include three short video presentations, a PowerPoint presentation and a quiz to support learning.

Developed within the EOSC Synergy project, all of the content can be freely shared and reused with the attribution to the EOSC Synergy project and/or other relevant sources. To make full use of the course (e.g. take quizzes), please register as a new user.
