Diese Art ist dem S. eremitoides PUTHZ äusserlich sehr ähnlich, die Männchen lassen sich aber leicht daran unterscheiden, dass ihr Sternit 7 einfach ist (also keinen gegabelten Mittelvorsprung besitzen wie die genannte Art).
