Metaphire perelae (Thai, 1982)

Pheretima perelae Thai, 1982: 827, fig. 3B; Do 1994: 102; Nakamura 1999: 28; Thai 2000a: 309. Pheretima (Amynthas) perelae— Thai 1983: 125.

Metaphire perelae— Blakemore 2007a: 78; Blakemore 2008b.

Type locality. Vietnam (Ninh Binh: Cuc Phuong NP).

Type material. ZMUM (W.267), Russia.

Examined material. 1 C (SORC-V.078) Cuc Phuong NP, Ninh Binh, 23/6/1983, coll. Thai Tran Bai.

Records from Vietnam. Ninh Binh (Cuc Phuong NP) (Thai 1982; Do 1994).

Distribution. Only known from Vietnam.

Vietnamese name. Giun perel.

Remarks. Blakemore (2007a) stated its status as " species inquirenda ". Material was re-examined and presence of male copulatory pouches and hence placement of the species in Metaphire is confirmed here.
