Description
Pachycephala griseiceps gagiensis Mayr
Pachycephala griseiceps gagiensis Mayr, 1940: 3 (Gagi Island, west of Waigeu).
Now Pachycephala simplex gagiensis Mayr, 1940. See Schodde and Mason, 1999: 439–440, and Boles, 2007: 416.
Holotype: AMNH 658525, female, collected on Gag (5 Gagi) Island, 00.25S, 129.53E (Times Atlas), Papua Province, Indonesia, on 5 March 1863, by Heinrich A. Bernstein. From the Rothschild Collection.
COMMENTS: Mayr gave the AMNH number of the holotype in the original description; he had a single specimen. Rothschild had received this specimen from RMNH.
