Abbreviations: lig, scarred surfaces for ligament attachment; sc, scarred surface; tab, flap-like tab on the dorsolateral margin of mt II; tab.sc, corresponding scarred and indented surface on the medial edge of the shaft of mt III for the attachment of the tab on mt II.
