TYPE SPECIES: Orbellia myopiformis Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830, by subsequent designation (Coquillett, 1910: 580).
CURRENT STATUS: Valid genus [teste Sabrosky (1999: 225)].
FAMILY: HELEOMYZIDAE.
