Description
Lectotype (designated here): — COLOMBIA. Valle del Cauca, between Palmira and Cerrito, Hda. El Trejito, 4 February 1941, C.Garcés O. 4 (lectotype: COL000001007!; isolectotypes: COL000001006!, F0064447 F!, US00090080!, US 01094860!).
Nomenclatural notes:— In the protologue is mentioned that the collection of Garcés 4 is allocated in the COL, however there are two exsiccates in this herbarium. There is neither clear indication on the label suggesting these two preparations are parts of the same specimen nor a single original label in common (Art. 8.3); therefore, we consider them as duplicates. Based on this, we designate here the specimen COL000001007 as a lectotype because this specimen contains branches with two syconia, leaves and stipules.
Taxonomical note:— Ficus garcesii was synonymized by Berg (2007) and Ibarra-Manríquez et al. (2012) as F. pertusa.
