Host: Passer hispaniolensis (Temminck) [1, 2].
Distribution in Bulgaria: Pazardzhik, Harmanli [1]; Nova Cherna (Silistra Region) [2].
Remarks: Touleshkov (1964a) identified the species as Philopterus fringillae (Scopoli, 1772). The corresponding material was examined and re-identified as Philopterus hispaniolensis Fedorenko, 1987 by the present author.
